The Practice of Prayer

Prayer is foundational in the life of the believer. It is a door opened to the frail and finite, leading into the presence of the Almighty and Eternal. Prayer is a never-ending source of potential, power, and promise eager to be employed; yet, too often, we find it pushed to the margins of the believer’s life.

Considering the enormous potential of the life given to God in prayer, it should come as no surprise that there is fierce opposition to the purposeful practice of it. Accordingly, prayer is a privilege for which we must battle.  Like all disciplines, it is a skill that must be developed - it starts small and grows over time.

To that end, this study is intended to be intensely practical.  It guides the believer, at any stage of their spiritual walk, to carefully inspect and thoughtfully challenge their current beliefs, motives, and actions regarding prayer.  It provides practical instruction on the how and why of prayer, as well as a means through which the believer can intentionally practice prayer.  It is through these small beginnings, through the consistent practice of prayer, that God faithfully teaches the believer to pray.
